Retirement card questions

What is an online retirement card?

A retirement card that the whole team signs online, including people who left years ago or work in another office. With LittleSurprise it opens as a little capsule machine, and the person retiring opens each message one by one.

Can old colleagues sign it too?

Yes. Anyone with the signing link can add a message, so you can send it to former coworkers, clients or friends from other teams. Nobody needs to be on your company chat.

Do colleagues need an account to sign it?

No. Only the organizer makes an account, to save and manage the card. Colleagues sign from the link, and the person retiring opens it without signing up.

Can I send it on their last day?

Yes. On Celebration and up you can pick the date and time it opens, like the morning of their retirement party. You can send the link early, and it shows a countdown until then.

What should I write in a retirement card?

Thank them for something specific, like a lesson they taught you or a time they helped. Add a favourite memory from work and wish them well with whatever they plan to do next.

How many people can sign one card?

Up to 40 on Keepsake, and a Keepsake card can add more room, up to 200 messages in total.

Is it free?

Yes, you can make as many free cards as you like, each with 2 messages including yours. For a bigger group, Celebration is $9.99 USD for 15 messages with photos, and Keepsake is $19.99 USD for 40 messages with photos and voice messages. It is one payment per card, never a subscription. Signing and opening are always free.

Will they find out before it’s ready?

No. They only see it when you send them the finished card’s link. Contributors use a separate link to sign, so keep that one out of their inbox.
